The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has appointed Robertson Facilities Management to provide facilities management services across its estate under a deal worth £70 million.
The five-year deal, which started in early April, has an annual value of £14.35m and the option to extend it for another three years.
Robertson will undertake all scheduled preventative and reactive maintenance tasks and will also be responsible for completing minor capital projects.
Adrian Mole, Managing Director of Robertson Facilities Management, said, “As the chosen delivery partner for physical facilities management services, we will ensure the estate is maintained to the highest standards to ensure that SFRS can continue to ensure the safety of the communities it serves.
“As corporate members of the Supplier Development Program, we will engage with SMEs and third sector organizations to ensure the local provision of specialist services and spend where possible.”
Iain Morris, Acting Director of Asset Management at SFRS, said: “This contract with Robertson Facilities Management will allow us to provide good value for the taxpayer, and at the same time offer opportunities for SMEs to provide services to maintain, protect and repair SFRS properties, allowing us to focus on our core roles and responsibilities as we strive to continue to protect Scottish communities from harm.
